The Journey of 4,800 Gospels of John from Glide, Oregon to Jacmel, Haiti
Sending anything to Haiti can be tricky, let alone 4,800 French Gospels of John for our Haitian public high school students. However, thanks to the Lord, you, and our ministry partners, this book is now in the hands and hearts of 4,800 Haitian youth as their class textbook.
The journey and our story begins in the little town of Glide, Oregon where the effective ministry, The Living Water Project, is located and our availability to these life changing books begin. Funded solely by donations, this non-profit organization promptly drop-shipped 48 boxes, each containing 100 books to our next USA ministry partner’s warehouse and aviation headquarters in Fort Pierce, Florida…. Missionary Flights International.
Missionary Flights International (MFI) provides reliable transportation and logistical services to Bible-centered missions. This reputable non-profit organization flies airplanes to pick up and deliver items needed by missions and missionaries. The Gospels of John were loaded and flown to Port Au Prince, Haiti.
Once in Port Au Prince, MFI directed the Gospels of John through Haitian Customs, and were then stored in MFI’s warehouse located a few miles from the Port Au Prince airport
Our CIDM staff in Jacmel were notified that the Gospels of John had arrived. Delpha hired a vehicle and driver in Jacmel and planned the 3+ hour mountainous drive to pick up the boxes.
Once Delpha arrived at the MFI warehouse, the boxes were loaded and driven back, journeying back over the mountains to the CIDM facility in Jacmel, Haiti.
The final journey…Our four CIDM bible teachers transported the Gospels of John to each of the 16 public highs schools where we have the privilege of teaching Bible classes, with the book of John being the class curriculum.
Happy to have the written Word of God in their hands, the high school students can now learn and study an actual book of John. As their class textbook, it’s read, studied, poured over, valued and used as a life-changer in each student’s life story as each discover God’s love, forgiveness and abundant life in Christ.
