In 2014, Gaby was just another 7th grade student at Pichinat Middle/High School when CIDM held an all-school evangelistic assembly. “At the time,” he said, “it mostly felt like just a nice activity.” But God was already planting seeds.
One of those seeds came through his Bible teacher, Mr. Brisso. Though the class had a lively reputation, Mr. Brisso’s teaching was different. He spoke clearly about Jesus Christ, heaven and hell, welcomed questions, and taught with unmistakable passion. “I respected Mr. Brisso deeply. In fact, I admired him so much that I even imitated the way he walked,” Gaby says with a smile.
After hearing Mr. Brisso preach one Saturday at Lavi Reyel in March of 2016, Gaby deeply felt the need for God in his life. That day, he invited Jesus into his heart.
“Accepting Jesus changed everything for me,” he says. “I became wiser. I realized the joy in serving others. Before, I was involved in worldly activities. Without my faith and involvement in CIDM, my life would have gone in a very different direction.”
Now 25 years old, Gaby’s life reflects that transformation. After graduating from high school, he attended a vocational school

where he studied computer science, journalism, and photography. These skills led him to start his own photography business. Though earning a living is not easy and work is often scarce, he continues using his gifts faithfully. From 2019 to 2022, Gaby also created a theater group involving more than 50 young people, helping them understand the value of their youth and how they can positively impact their country.
Life in Haiti is difficult, especially for young men. The pressures are constant, and the future can feel uncertain. But God intervened. Today, Gaby is no longer simply a student impacted by ministry; he is a

leader. In 2022, he was invited to step into leadership within CIDM and humbly accepted. He attends the Church on the Rock of Jacmel and holds tightly to his favorite verse: “If God is for you, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).
Today, Gaby helps capture the very ministry God used to change his life. He serves as a photographer and videographer for CIDM, creating many of the images shared in our monthly newsletters, each bearing his signature. He also passes his knowledge and skill to students by teaching photography classes to students during our CIDM summer vocational classes. God has gifted him with an eye for emotion. He captures more than moments — he captures what God is doing in the room: quiet tears during prayer, the intensity of a message, and the joy of students discovering truth. The student who once sat in the classroom now helps tell the story of revival through a lens.

Gaby grew up in the Catholic Church. His father practiced voodoo but never forced it on the family and passed away two years ago. We rejoice with him that today, his mother and his five siblings have accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts.
When asked what he would say to American supporters, he shared this encouragement: “Do not stray from God’s mission that he has for you. And do not use God’s name for personal gain.”

Through CIDM, young leaders are being trained to know God’s Word and apply it to every area of life. They are Haiti’s future parents, teachers, pastors, and leaders — and through Christ, they will help shape their nation and influence the world.
