New Life Discipleship

New Life Discipleship (Lavi Reyel in Creole) is a bible study teaching and equipping hundreds of youth with the gospel and truth of the Bible. Our trained Haitian bible teachers guide the youth weekly through worship, bible teaching, prayer, bible memorization, fellowship and fun. Furthermore, our staff works to include those from the deaf community, providing translators for each weekly meeting.

As in the book of Acts, a revival is spreading as the youth embrace the truth of the Bible and God crushes Satan’s evil control of Haiti. Many are being set free from voodoo, demonic strongholds and sexual slavery. Through prayer, God is performing miracles as they endure family persecution yet are joyously strengthened by the Holy Spirit and the fellowship and support of the group. More are drawn each week by a sense of belonging, deep discipleship and personal invitation.

The New Life Discipleship Story

In March 2014 over 600 Haitians came to know Christ through a US team’s evangelism to the local high schools and a city-wide concert with the Dominic Bali Band.  In order to teach and encourage these new believers, CIDM immediately began a weekly New Believers class, with Brisso Jean Doriscan, as the Bible teacher.  After finishing 2 months of the biblical truths in the New Believers classes, the group was hungry for more bible study.

Thus, a new ministry was born within CIDM. Brisso began teaching the book of John, chapter by chapter, verse by verse.  After spending one and a half years teaching John, he is currently teaching the book of Acts.

The new believers continue to come, learn, grow and be changed.  Through the accurate teaching of the Bible in love, the Haitians’ hungry hearts are experiencing forgiveness, freedom and a love relationship with Jesus Christ.  They are finding joy, peace and hope in Christ like never before.

The intent of New Life Discipleship is not to begin a new church in Jacmel, but for participants to share the truths they learn with their families, friends and home churches. There are many biblically based churches in Jacmel; however, often times the pastor and congregation’s spiritual growth is lacking, due to the scarcity of resources, biblical training and knowledge.  By teaching and equipping the young people through CIDM, they are spreading the new found biblical truths and personal walk with Jesus to a new level.  Our CIDM youth are becoming bold for Christ and sharing that excitement in their churches.  Their pastors are recognizing a change in them and placing them in leadership and biblical teaching positions.

Tremendous fruits are realized…with every young adult that is taught and discipled in the New Life Discipleship bible study, in reality, potentially hundreds more Haitians are also learning and drawing closer to Jesus, as the young adults share God’s truths with their churches, families and friends.
